Just a quick clarification as apparently I announced this in Officer Chat but never posted it. :-)

Initiate level is bestowed on any person as soon as they join the guild.  They remain an initiate for two weeks at which time any officer can promote them to Member.  Officers will check the notes on your account to confirm that it has been at least two weeks that that person has been in the guild.

This two week period serves several purposes.  The Initiate gets to try out the guild, meet the people, get used to the guild rules and check out the forum, see if the loot rules and the way we do everything is for them!  It's also a safety net, because the Initiate will be warned about bad behavior, where a member who is supposed to know and follow the rules will get treated a bit more harshly.  On the guild side, we get to meet the person, see if they will work out in our particular framework and they are willing to conform to the type of person that we can all quest with and come to enjoy. :-)  Also, while an Initiate, the new person cannot use the guild bank and "clean us out" while they are still new.  Most bank robbers are not willing to stay that long to grab a few baubles.

Let me or any other officer know if you have any questions!  The forums at www.RumorsOfWarGuild.com can answer almost all of your questions very quickly also, so please check there as well!
